IHG Hotels & Resorts has pioneered a new guest technology feature by rolling out AirPlay-compatible TVs in more than 60 of its properties throughout North America. Starting this Thursday, guests staying at select IHG locations will be able to stream content from their iPhones or iPads directly to their in-room TVs. This integration caters to a variety of uses, from watching videos and listening to music to playing games on Apple Arcade and working out with Apple Fitness+.
The process to connect is designed with ease and security in mind: guests simply scan a unique QR code displayed on the TV screen in their room. This setup ensures that each connection is private and secure. To maintain privacy, all personal data and connectivity links are automatically erased from the TV upon guest checkout, preventing any subsequent access by other guests or hotel staff.
The IHG family includes well-known brands such as Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo, Candlewood Suites, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. Guests can check which locations feature these AirPlay-compatible TVs by visiting the IHG Hotels & Resorts website.
Earlier in February, LG announced that its Pro: Centric Smart Hotel TVs, which support the AirPlay feature, would be available in selected hotels this spring, marking a significant step forward in enhancing guest connectivity and entertainment options.
